Al Matroushi attends Al Ameen lecture on Cyber-blackmailing
Organised by Al Ameen Service, in coordination and collaboration with UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), His Excellency Major General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director General of UAE Civil Defence, has recently attended an awareness lecture on cyber-blackmailing.

The lecture is aimed at educating Dubai Civil Defence's staff members on the risks and consequences caused by careless internet use and raising awareness among people to be more cautious while sharing data on the web and social media due to the remarkable growth and development of the online space locally and internationally. This advancement is an opportunity for unscrupulous users who take advantage of this growth to harm other people, violate their privacy and use their personal data and pictures to obtain financial gain illegally.
 
The lectured also tackled several essential procedures to secure self from cyber blackmail. Moreover, the lecture urged internet users to: Avoid chatting with strangers, never post any sort of suggestive images or videos, discuss concerns with parents or friends, and report to the police.
 
The public can communicate with Al Ameen through different channels alongside the traditional means of communication such as the toll free number and fax. The Al Ameen service is available 24 hours, seven days a week and police will deal with each cases confidentially, while there will be no legal responsibility for those who contact Al Ameen.
